Physical Freedom and Financial Freedom Go Hand in Hand

Low Back Fix with Dr. Theresa Larson

By Dr. Theresa Larson, DPT, CSCS, SFMA and Anders Varner

Financial freedom is the hallmark of retirement.

The ability to travel, explore the world, and live the final trimester of life without the financial stress and daily grind of work.

You can imagine what it will feel like the day you finally walk away from work as the stress melts off your body.

You contribute to your 401k, save money, and budget just like the book tells you to do.

Every day however, you get out of bed and your low back is irritated.

You sit in the car on the way to work and it will not loosen up.

You look for the perfect position as you sit at your desk but the dull pain never goes away.

Every day you think it is going to get better but in the back of your head you know something needs to change.

This issue with your low back has taken residence inside your body and like a bad tenant in a rental property, is not going anywhere.

There is a hard truth you must learn today or it will haunt you forever.

Your financial freedom has no value without the physical freedom to enjoy it.

Your financial freedom has no value without the physical freedom to enjoy it.

More importantly, financial and physical freedom are not mutually exclusive.

The Journal of American Osteopathic Association estimates Americans spend over $100 billion yearly on treatments and side effects of low back pain.

Is that number too large to wrap your head around?

$34,000 is a little easier and it is probably a large chunk of your annual salary.

This is the expense, not including your time and energy, that you spend managing and treating your low back pain.

Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, massages, primary care physicians, insurance deductibles, and the list goes on.

But you are spending money and searching for answers in all the wrong places.

Physical freedom is the ability to explore, run, play, and experience life.

Just like saving an additional $20/ week, physical freedom is built on a strong foundation of movement, with incremental deposits, that over time grow exponentially.

The answer is not in spending money, but investing in your future.

You will not retire with financial freedom without investing today.

You will not retire with physical freedom without investing today.

Physical and financial freedom thrive on three simple concepts:

  1. Spend Less – Eating out and going to the chiropractor provide short term benefits, increase monthly expenses, and zero growth.
  2. Growth Rate – Saving $100 is great because the future of that money will be in the thousands. Practicing movement today provides the strength and health to enjoy your life.
  3. Start Small –Saving an additional $20 per week saves you $1,040/ year. Committing to three hours of movement per week saves you thousands in insurance, doctors’ bills, and creates the opportunity to experience life with that $1,040.

A simple investment of $7.25 per week, $29 per month, is what our low back fix and lifestyle integration movement program will cost to help develop physical health that will serve you for the rest of your life.
